Tamdin Wangdu is a Tibetan development practitioner, a community organizer and authentic leader who grew-up in Tibet and was educated in America. In 1994, Tamdin went to the United States to study and worked in various fields to support his own education. After graduation from the Business School of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Tamdin worked for Accenture as a consultant and with several other organizations that promote economic development for developing countries.
Tamdin started Tibetan Village Project (TVP) in 2001 to build a medical clinic to save others lives after his father died in the village. Since then, TVP has worked in partnership with local governments and communities to expand their programs by building more clinics, bridges, greenhouses, drinking water system and schools. As TVP expanded, Tamdin realized his humanitarian mission needed a revenue model to sustain and scale its impact. In the last few years, Tamdin has focused on developing social enterprises by connecting artisans to markets, promoting community based tourism, and providing business consultancy.
